Heavy Fog Envelops Motorways Across Pakistan

In a significant development, the Motorway-M1 has been completely shut down from Peshawar to Islamabad due to dense fog. Simultaneously, the Motorway M2 is off-limits for traffic from Lahore to Sheikhupura.

The Motorway-M3 is currently inaccessible for all traffic moving from Lahore to Multan, and the Motorway-M4 is closed from Multan to Pindi Bhattian, as per the latest information from the Motorways Police spokesperson.

Adding to the disruptions, the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway also faces closure due to reduced visibility caused by heavy fog.

Furthermore, the Motorways Police has reported the closure of the Swat Expressway spanning from Colonel Sher Khan to Chakdara. Similarly, the Hazara Expressway is now off-limits for traffic from Burhan to Shah Maqsood.

Operations on Motorway M14 have been suspended from Hakla to Fatehyar due to the prevailing heavy fog and limited visibility.

It’s important to note that Peshawar and its surrounding areas are currently enveloped in fog, exacerbating regional visibility issues. Commuters are advised to stay informed and plan alternative routes accordingly.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) anticipates predominantly cold and dry weather conditions for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of the country over the next two days.
