Finally, the wait is over and the Honda CD 70 2024 model was launched by Atlas Honda on 10th August 2024. As anticipated, there is nothing new except a new sticker with the addition of a new blue color. For a long company has turned a blind eye to people’s expectations and has not made any significant changes in terms of quality, speed, or comfort.
In recent years, there have been many new technologies developed for motorcycles but Atlas Honda is reluctant to add new features as it will increase the cost, and motorcycles prices are already vulnerable to the forex rates.
For over 50 years, the Company has been leading the motorcycle industry in Pakistan with a production capacity of over 1.5 million motorcycles per year. Atlas Honda is dominating in motorcycle business because of its high-quality products, high-tech manufacturing facilities, extensive network of dealerships, and impressive after-sale services.
Despite the decrease in sales, Atlas Honda has increased its prices for all models, including CD 70.

Honda CD70 2024 New Design and colour
The Honda CD 70 2024 model is identical to the previous model except for a new sticker with the addition of a new blue color. Honda CD 70 is now a part of Pakistani culture and many people like to change their bikes every year just to have the latest sticker.
If we talk about the body, just like the previous model it has a backbone-type frame which is widely used in economical and small-displacement Motorcycles.
In the Honda CD70 2024 model, the front & rear wheels have thicker spokes than in the previous model. Stronger spokes can easily transfer the rider’s and motorcycle’s weight between the rim and the hub therefore, this motorcycle can bear a greater load. The front tire has a size of 2.25 – 17 (4 PR) and the rear tire has a size of 2.50 – 17 (4 PR).
Here, it is important to mention that Ply Rating (PR) is an indicator of the load capacity of the tire and the number has no direct relationship to the number of plies. Generally, the following three main companies deliver tires to Atlas Honda.
It has dimensions of 1897 x 751 x 1014 mm with a ground clearance of 136 mm which reduces the chance of damage when going over bumpy roads. It has a comfortable and soft seat suitable for both men and women. The speed meter, indicators, and front light are similar to the previous model.

Honda CD70 2024 has a compression ratio of 9.3:1 and a dry weight of 82kg (180.8 pounds). Usually, modern street motorcycles have a compression ratio of 8.1:1 to 13.1:1. Compression ratio is a measure of how much air and fuel, a cylinder in an engine can squeeze. In simple words: the higher the compression ratio, the more power will be generated for a given displacement, and for a given quantity of fuel. Thus, the Honda CD70’s latest model will perform exceptionally well even on steep roads.
Atlas Honda CD70, 2024 has a 4-stroke OHC (overhead camshaft) air-cooled engine and bore & stroke of 47.0 x 41.4 mm with a displacement of 72 cm3. Atlas Honda CD70 uses the latest air-cooled engine technology in which air passes through the engine to keep the engine within operating temperatures.
A higher displacement ratio means more space for the engine’s fuel-air mix, to utilize more fuel to generate more power. Further, the Atlas Honda CD70 latest model has a 4 Speed Constant Mesh transmission, in which all forward gears pairs remain engaged to avoid any damage, even if the driver changes the gears poorly damage will be limited.
Like other Honda bikes, it has drum brakes as they are very effective and last longer than disk brakes. Honda CD70 2024 has a dry weight of 82kg with a compact engine so the company has used multiple Wet clutch plates. A clutch’s main function is to transfer torque from the engine to the gearbox and multiple wet clutch plates are specifically used to increase the power transmission capability.
Fuel Tank & Reserve Capacity
Honda CD70 2024 has a petrol capacity of 8.5 litres and a reserve of 1 litre. So, if you run out of petrol, you do not need to worry as one-litre petrol is sufficient to take you to the next nearest petrol pump.
Mileage and Top Speed
The term “mileage” describes how many kilometres a motorcycle can travel in one litre of petrol. Mileage is one of the many important factors and it shows the health of the engine.
Honda CD 70 2024 is very fuel efficient and as per the company’s claim, it gives a fuel average of 70-75 KM/litre which seems difficult due to road conditions in Pakistan. According to buyers, it gives a mileage of 55-60 KM/litre at normal speeds.
If we talk about top speed, the company claims that it gives a maximum speed of 93 KM/h. However, in real life, it gives a maximum speed of 80-82 KM/h which is a bit risky due to its lightweight. In first gear, you can travel at a maximum speed of 20 KM/h while second and third gears give a maximum speed of 42 KM/h and 70 KM/h respectively.

Main Competitors of Honda CD 70
In Pakistan, roughly 30 companies are selling Chinese motorbikes under different brand names. Super Star, United, Hi-speed, Eagle, Road Prince, Unique, Super Asia, and Pak Hero are only a few of them offering Chinese imports. However, the combined sales of all these brands do not come closer to Atlas Honda’s sales.
Atlas Honda dominates the market with more than 50% shares of the market and its best-selling motorcycle is the Honda CD-70. In terms of price, other brands are much cheaper than Atlas Honda and a customer can save approximately 30% by buying an imported Chinese motorcycle but still, everybody wants to buy Honda. In other words, the company’s slogan “Mein te Honda he lesaan” is no longer just a slogan but has become a reality.
Resale Value of Honda CD 70
Honda CD70 has the highest resale value of any other motorcycle in Pakistan. The average life of a Honda CD70 is anywhere between 7 to 10 years of smooth and good performance while a Chinese motorcycle needs to be replaced within 3 to 4 years. On average, a Chinese motorcycle loses 2/3 of its value within three years. On the hand, for the same period, Honda CD70 loses a maximum of 1/3 of its original value. This is main the reason why a huge majority of Pakistani motorcyclists prefer Honda.
Honda CD 70 vs Honda CD 70 Dream
Honda CD 70 dream is very popular among young boys due to its sporty look, comfortable ride, and better road grip. From a technical point of view, both models are almost similar to each other but they are different in design and style.
Honda CD70 Dream looks more attractive due to its sporty taillights, bigger front light, black plastic chain cover, and black side cover. The Speedometer is completely different from the normal CD70 with a top speed of 120 km/h.
The fuel tank is a bit different in shape but the fuel capacity is the same. The Honda CD70 dream is available in three different colours Red, Black, and Silver while Honda CD70 is available only in Black and Red colour.
The price of the Honda CD 70 Dream 2024 is PKR 168,900 and Honda CD 70 2024 has a price of PKR 157,900 If we talk about resale value, then Honda CD 70 has a higher resale value as compared to its Dream variant.
